Air Defense Tactical Operations Center Operator

 

Job Description

Can you keep a secret? Are you good with computers and technology? Good, because as an Operator in an Air Defense Tactical Operations Center , you will need a secret clearance and the ability to work with advanced field technologies to help the Army National Guard ensure the country's air superiority.

 

The Air Defense Tactical Operations Center Operator primarily supervises or serves as a member of an early warning team. The duties of an Air Defense Tactical Operations Center Operator include detecting, tracking, and identifying aircraft; broadcasting early warning information; and performing other operations and intelligence duties in Air Defense units.

 

Through training and practice in this specialty, you will develop technical skills and qualities that are in demand by today's employers; those qualities include leadership, discipline, and courage. And your work with computers and technological systems will put you ahead of the pack in the eyes of an employer. Job training for an Air Defense Tactical Operations Center Operator consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 19 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in a classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions.

Requirements

                   High School Diploma or GED (If you do not have a diploma or GED, you may still apply - ask a recruiter about how the Army National Guard can help you earn your GED.)

                   Must be between the ages of 17 and 35

                   Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
